Microchipping | Pemontell

A microchip is a very small device we implant under the skin of your puppy / dog as a means of identification. The microchip itself is about the size of a grain of rice. It's a harmless procedure which involves implanting subcutaneously (just under the skin) between the shoulder blades at the back of your pet's neck. Each chip has a unique 15-digit number that is detected using a microchip scanner. The microchip number is recorded on a database registry with details about the animal and owner.

The microchip is a permanent method of electronic identification. Pet owners need to ensure all their contact details are recorded on the database against their pet's microchip number. Should your pet wander or become lost, vets, animal shelters and local councils can scan your pet for a microchip and contact you via the database.

It is very important to keep your contact details up to date on the database so that if you move house or change your phone number you will still be contactable in the event of your pet becoming lost/straying. If a pet is transferred to a new owner, the new owner must ensure their contact details are recorded on the database.

We use Peddymark Microchips.
All of our customers puppies as well as our own puppies are registered on the www.animaltracker.co.uk database.

It is legislation that all puppies must be microchipped prior to going to their new homes. They must be registered to the breeder first before being transferred into the name of the new owner.

New Legislation for Cats - from 10 June 2024 all cats must be microchipped and registered.
Failure to comply may result in penalties up to £500

	Up to 10 miles included in price then £1 per mile thereafter.

Cancellation & Rescheduling:

We request 24 hours notice if you need to cancel your microchipping appointment. We are a small business, please respect that and understand that when you forget or cancel an appointment we miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time.

To reschedule or cancel an appointment please call the salon on 07340 707355 If you are cancelling your appointment outside normal working hours, please leave a voicemail providing your name, dogs name, time and date of appointment.

Payments:

Payment should be made at the time of the appointment. We can accept payment by cash or card. Prices are subject to change without prior notice.

Photographs:

Your dog may be photographed before, during and after the appointment. Photographs may be used on our website, social media or other printed materials. If you do not want photos of your dog to be used on social media then please let us know at the time of your appointment.
